Trackside with Kristen Auto Cross Updates

Just wrapped up a big weekend racing three straight days in Toledo, Ohio with NCCC over the holiday weekend. 

Day 1 - Tracked the Yellow C8 Corvette with Continental Extreme Contact Sports.  These tires never let me down.  Warm up fast and the car just stays where you put it.  I was not able to secure OFTD (overall fastest time of the day) and finished second.  I missed the number one spot by less than a quarter of a second.  Had an amazing time launching the car on a course set up in true Bracket Racing style.  I do however need to work on the tree reaction and could dial in a better time in that area.

We did 12 runs and then it was bracket competition.  The first run I raced against another c8 and was able to secure the win to move on.  The 2nd run I also raced against another C8 with race tires and a really good driver.  It was very close, I did however win and moved on to the next race.  Pulled up to the line and was racing against a really good driver.  His time was better than mine so I had a lead off the light.  I gave it my all and wasn't able to secure the win that round which moved into the finals.  Had a blast though!! 

Day 2 - I wasn't messing around and brought the E-Ray.  The 500 ft. launch is about half a second faster than my Yellow C8.  At the end of the day I was able to secure ladies OFTD.  I was a little challenged racing on all season tires and will need to switch those out.  The tires took quite awhile to warm up compared to the Continental Tires. All in all, it was a great day, even in the 90-degree heat!

Day 3 - the course was considerably shorter but more challenging.  From the line was a 50ft. launch into a Chicago Box which was very tight maneuvering with the E-ray wide body.  Near the end of the day I was more aggressive and knocked down a few cones which doesn't happen very often.  Another 90 degree heat day with little shade.  I was able to secure OFTD which was a great way to end the weekend.
